No holiday in Thônes is complete without a visit to the farm, where our famous cheeses are produced such as the reblochon fermier, the tomme fermiere and the goat cheeses of the Beauregard Plateau….

La Ferme de Lorette

La Ferme de Lorette a ThonesThe life at the farm is dependent on the seasons. During the winter the cows stay in the valley at Thônes in their cow sheds. Whereas during the summer they return to the alpine meadows of the Beauregard.

In the summer, you can walk (about 40 mins) on a well sign posted path up to the farm. You can watch the milking, and the demonstration of producing the reblochon fermier, then finally you can taste it!!
In the winter, you can visit the Lorette Farm in the valley for a similar visit to the summer one. But this time no need for a long walk.
To learn more about it, you can visit the Lorette farm’s website.

Le GAEC du Vent des Cimes

GAEC le vent des CimesThe main farm building is located in the commune of the Bouchet Mont-Charvin, where the cows spend the winter.
At the end of May it’s time to migrate to the mountains opposite the alpine chalet l’Aulp at Marlens at an altitude of 1650m.
It’s a superb hike which follows the GRP Tour du Val-Sulens, and which leads you to a magical place at the foot of the Mont Charvin.

Live the life of an alpine shepherd, it’s time for a visit!
It’s more than just a visit; it’s a genuine encounter with the history of the alpine meadows, the perfumes of the cheeses, and the enjoyment of their products.

To find out more, visit the website GAEC of Vent des Cimes.
