Exhibition! A look at history: drawing and filming memory trials 2026-07-14 2026-08-16

Accessible tourism

From 14/07 to 16/08/2026 on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, public holidays and weekends.

A travelling exhibition designed by the Rhône departmental archives around three major memory trials in which press cartoons and comic strips intersect.

1987. Klaus Barbie, an exceptional trial in every respect. The first in France for crimes against humanity. The trials of Touvier (1994) and Papon (1997-98) would follow. The exhibition explores the transmission of these three major trials by juxtaposing the perspective of press cartoonist Jean-Claude Bauer with the graphic novel published 35 years after the trial. It thus offers a unique way to delve into the heart of these painful yet necessary chapters of history.
Around the exhibition: workshops Tell the story of the maquis through drawing on April 12, 19, July 19 and August 16, 2026.
