The Bluffy pass, located at an altitude of 631 m is at the crossroads between the Annecy lake and Thônes Valley. Frequently borrowed by cars, motorcycles or bicycles, This pass offers a magnificent view of Lake Annecy as you descend towards Talloires.

A pass on the heights of Annecy

Between Menthon-Saint-Bernard, Alex and Annecy

This small road pass located at an altitude of 631 m, is located at the intersection of several roads providing access from all sides: Veyrier-du-Lac, Alex, Menthon-Saint-Bernard but also Talloires. The pass is not specially designed for parking but it offers a beautiful view of Lake Annecy, the Parmelan, the Dents de Lanfon and the magnificent castle of Menthon-Saint-Bernard who, it seems, inspired Walt Disney for his cartoon Sleeping Beauty.

In cyclo mode

From Thônes, this pass presents no difficulty. It is more like a false flat uphill of 104 m of elevation gain with a maximum gradient of 4%. Accessible from several departures, the ascent from Menthon-Saint-Bernard is the most difficult with a short climb of just over 2 km but interesting thanks to a passage at 13%. This pass rarely represents an end in itself but rather a passage towards other passes like that of the Forclaz or to the Annecy lake whose cycle path allows you to go around most of it.

To make a break

La ferme de la Charbonnière is a restaurant located a little below the Col de Bluffy on the way back down to Annecy. You can enjoy many cheese-based specialties such as reblochonnade, raclette, tomme blanche, tartiflette, fondue, etc. The restaurant room overlooks the stable and offers you a view of the cows. An unusual setting for a typical meal!
