A rich heritage
You can discover the old farms and chapels that dot the village and the history of Pierre Favre who was canonized by the current Pope, December 17, 2013. Set off on the trails, towards the site of the 3 bridges or towards the stream from which the millstones or scyts (split stones) were extracted and which gave their name to the town.
Among the old farms of the village, two of them designed by the architect Jean-Marie Favre-Lorraine known as Guinguet and located in the hamlet of Lombardes, deserve a special detour for their exceptional and avant-garde architecture. Two jewels to admire without moderation!

Every year in March, the caricature festival brings together many professionals of caricature, press drawing and humor, known and recognized, coming to "sketch" you for a weekend. A festival full of good humor and originality in the region!

What to see and do in Saint-Jean-de-Sixt summer?
The natural heritage of Saint-Jean-de-Sixt offers some beautiful walks.
Hiking
From the village center, the circuit of the Name takes you on a loop around the river of the same name! A refreshing little route of 2,2 km and 70 m of elevation gain.

The Crêt Brûlé circuit (2,6 km and 180 m elevation gain) from the Crêt Saint Jean car park takes you through the woods to a panoramic view of the Aravis range, the Bargy and the Tournette massif. The starting path can continue to other destinations such as the Mont Lachat.
At the exit of the village towards La Clusaz, you can park at the Le Danay d'en Haut car park to go up towards The Head of Danay and reach the summit cross and the three orientation tables which reveal all the secrets of the 360° panorama that opens up to you. This 2,9 km round trip and 175 m of elevation gain will take you a little over an hour. You can take advantage of it to take a break at the Danay refuge to taste traditional Savoyard dishes (by reservation) in a simple and warm atmosphere or have a drink facing the Aravis mountain range.


Bun J Ride
This first bungee jumping hill in the world promises you unforgettable moments between delirium and adrenaline in a sumptuous natural setting! In summer, the jump can be done by bike, skates or simply on foot, but always in complete safety. Attention thrill seekers!

Road bike
Saint-Jean-de-Sixt is located on the road to the great Alps and its legendary passes. Whether towards the Dovecote, the Aravis ou the Cross-Fry, you will necessarily pass through Saint-Jean-de-Sixt as did the tour of France on multiple occasions. You can also go downstream and drive towards the Annecy lake. Many routes of varying lengths and elevations are available to you.
Moutain Bike
Different Routes are possible by mountain bike and electric mountain bike (electrically assisted) including the Envers Wood circuit from the Lombards or even the new circuit which goes around the Danay from the Danay d'en Haut car park. The areas of Grand Bornand and La Clusaz are also nearby and offer a total of 200 km of marked and maintained trails in the Aravis sector.

Many other activities punctuate the summer season such as the market every Sunday morning, building huts on the banks of the Nom, discovering the fascinating world of bees, picking and using mountain plants, river fishing, tennis, pétanque, etc.

What to see and do in Saint-Jean-de-Sixt winter?
Pedestrian and snowshoe trails
Three snowshoe routes take you on 18,5 km of slopes, 3,5 km of which are also accessible to pedestrians. Go and get some fresh air and admire the resort's landscapes!
If you want more, you can escape to the 150 km of trails marked out in the Aravis sector.
