Departure: Abris sous Roche car park 1/ From "Abris sous Roche (Parking)", take the direction "Les Cascades via La Chapelle Sud". Always follow the direction "Les Cascades", you will pass by "La Chapelle Sud" and "Abris sous roche". 2/ When you arrive at the place called "Les Cascades", follow "Les Nantets". 3/ From "Les Nantets", take and follow the direction of "Belvédère de l'Arpettaz" via "Nant Debout Sud" and "Nant Debout Nord". 4/ When you arrive at "Nant Debout Nord", follow "Abris sous Roche (Parking)". Always follow this direction until you reach your starting point. You will pass by "Belvédère de l'Arpettaz", "La Chapelle Nord" and "La Chapelle Sud".

Enjoy the coolness of the undergrowth and take this historic route of about 1 hour, used by the resistance fighters during the Second World War. The latter will take you to the magnificent Balme de Thuy waterfall.

During this pleasant, easy walk, discover the surroundings of the village of La Balme-de-Thuy, gateway to the Thônes valley located on the foothills of the Glières Plateau.

The route begins at an archaeological site: the Abri sous Roche. This prehistoric cave is also the origin of the name of the village, the Balme-de-Thuy literally meaning "Rocky shelter located in Thuy".

Not far from the banks of the Fier, the path, mainly through the undergrowth, guides you along the streams to the beautiful Morette waterfall, aptly named "Nant Debout".

Also take the time to discover the historic site of Morette, dedicated to the memory of the Haute-Savoie Resistance. The national necropolis bears witness to the maquisard past of the Glières plateau, of which the nearby Departmental Museum of the Resistance offers an enriching overview.
