Each year, the Aravis Trail event takes place at Thones, at the gateway to the Aravis in Haute-Savoie. Variety of landscapes, terrains and a friendly atmosphere will be there for the 700 trail runners who will be on the starting line.

This event takes place every year at the end of June in Thônes. It brings together several hundred amateur or experienced trail runners, who during a day explore the emblematic peaks around Thônes.

A total of 4 courses* are offered to meet all the desires and levels of participants: 65km, 48km, 21km or, the Alpi Trail will go as far as reaching the peaks of Mont Lachat, Sulens and Mont Charvin.

River descents
Alpi’Trail – 28 km / 2300 m D+
Technical and magical duo
With a 40 km route and an elevation gain of 3800 m, the Alpi'Trail will take each duo to the summit of Mont Charvin at an altitude of 2409 m, with its 360° panoramic view of the surrounding mountains.
The alpiTrail was launched in 2018 and has been a real success. A good knowledge of the mountain environment and specific equipment are mandatory.



Volontera: 48 km / 3100 m D+
Technicality and variety of the terrain
During this course, several varied and technical terrains will be crossed. These 49 km will take the trail runners to the Mont Charvin lake via the Sulens massif.

Deûfe: 20 km / 1100 m D+
Varied course for all
This course is aimed more particularly at runners who want to discover mountain trail running with very varied terrain combining forest paths, grassy areas and single-track trails. This course will take place on the eastern slopes of Mont Lachat de Thônes with a not very technical trail.


Croué: 11km / 540m D+
Trail open for walking
This route is ideal for people who want to start trail running gently, since it offers, over a reasonable distance, climbs and descents accessible to all beginners.
Rôde: 5 km / 200 m D+
Family course
The Aravis Trail offers children a route through the Forêt du Mont.
About 5 km for 200m of D+, fun all along the route with activities prepared by a group of students from the MFR of Arclosan de Serraval, it allows the discovery of the natural and cultural heritage of the Thônes valley.
All children are welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult (with a mobile phone).
