The traditional Saint-Maurice Fair has existed for over 7 centuries and always takes place on the last Saturday in September.

This year, the Saint-Maurice Fair in Thônes will take place on Saturday September 26, 2026.

Due to regulations concerning lumpy skin disease and in solidarity with the agricultural world, no animals will be present at the fair.

Over the years, this fair has become the unmissable event in the entire Thônes valleyIt brings together all the players in the agricultural world for a presentation of breeding activities (cows, goats, sheep) and cheese making. The parade of Abondance cows remains a highlight of the day and brings together a large audience of connoisseurs and curious people. It ends with the presentation of the prizes for the Abondance breed competition and the Reblochon and honey competitions.

This agricultural fair has gradually expanded to include the commercial and craft sector with its numerous market stalls and is accompanied by a funfair, a garage sale, a car exhibition and sale and various activities which contribute to the undeniable success of this day.
